Ingredients
Sesame-crusted tuna
- 12 oz tuna steak
- Sesame Seeds enough to cover all sides of the tuna, about 1/4-1/3 cup
- soy sauce just enough to rub a thin layer over the steak
- avocado oil
Cilantro Soy Dressing
- 1 green onion whites and greens
- ⅓ cup cilantro
- 3 T soy sauce
- Juice of one lime at least 1 ounce
- 1 T olive oil sesame oil would be great, too, but I didn’t have any!
Instructions
- Cover a plate with sesame seeds and season with salt and pepper
- Rub a thin coating of soy sauce on your piece of tuna, then coat in sesame seeds
- In a pan over medium-high heat, add avocado oil.
- Once oil is hot, gently add fish into pan. Do not touch for 60-90 seconds, then flip and repeat on the other side.
- Once the large sides have a sear on them, using tongs, sear short ends of the fish for about 15-20 seconds each to get a sear without overcooking the fish
- Serve with dressing as a dipping sauce or tossed with a salad. My salad had mixed greens, avocado, tomato, and mango – a perfect combo!
