It’s so flavorful, and I always have some sort of easy protein around to add, whether that’s eggs, peas, edamame, or all of the above, as shown in the recipe video!

Instead of giving you an exact recipe, I’m going to walk through how to make a simple and delicious fried rice out of whatever it is that you have!

  • Veggies of choice I used cabbage, carrots, and bell peppers
  • Protein of choice I used frozen edamame, frozen peas, and 6 eggs

Sauce:

  • 1 part soy sauce
  • 1 part oyster sauce
  • 1/2 part rice wine vinegar
  • 1/2 part fish sauce optional

Instructions

  • In a stainless steel pan over medium-high heat, add in sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and green onion whites. Saute until fragrant, and add 1 T of butter
  • Add in other vegetables and saute until soft
  • If you are cooking a meat protein, at this point add your protein to the pan and saute until almost cooked through
  • Add in rice, any frozen vegetables (I used edamame and peas), 2 T butter, and mix well ensuring rice gets a nice fry. If cooking egg in same pan, create a well in the middle to scramble the eggs, then mix together
  • Stir in sauce and last T of butter and allow to cook for about 2 min. Add in egg if you cooked in a separate pan.
  • Enjoy with green onion greens, cilantro if you have it, and spicy mayo
