We love a bougie on a budget recipe, and claw meat is a great, more affordable option when cooking with crab.
When we went to the beach this year, we bought a spicy crab dip, which ended up mostly just being cream cheese and pepper jelly – which, don’t get me wrong, was delicious. But it left me really wanting some spicy crab dip, so we made it at home!
This is also a great option to make ahead, store it in the fridge, then pop it in the oven 20 minutes before your guests arrive. An impressive, crowd pleasing appetizer is served!
Mince the green onions and serrano peppers as finely as possible
Gently mix all ingredients besides the cheese in a bowl until well combined. Taste and adjust salt and pepper. It should taste a little salty because it will tone down in the oven.
Transfer to an oven-safe dish, cover with cheese, and bake for 25-30 minutes, until cheese is fully melted
Switch oven to high broil and broil for 1-2 minutes to brown cheese.
